i have the right to be wherever i want to be, I'm a part of the world and i will write about my experiences, my hopes, dreams and things I don't even know about yet!

Speak up your mind!

Life is so much more interesting once you decide to speak up your mind, once you decide to do what it takes to present yourself to your society, just the way you are.

Nothing matters, either you think you are right or either you think you are wrong, in both cases you deserve to be taken seriously, to be respected.

The biggest mistake we can do , as human beings , is to lose faith in our principles , our way of seeing life and what we believe in ; because once we do; things get complicated ,we become others target , and the perfect victims for brain washing.

Just like robots we start swallowing everything that is said to us and start believing in what others believe in, acting like we are convinced.

That’s how we lose our identity and our personality, trying to look like everyone else; while that little magical thing we use to have, disappears and our colors fade away.

We are beautiful in all the possible ways, full of surprises and just amazing, stand up and shout out loud who you are.

First of all, love yourself, and then believe in yourself, if this world does not correspond to your hopes, create your own world, you are the director of your own movie, write down your own story and choose your own characters.

The beauty of our world remains in the differences we have, the fact that each individual has its own characteristics and its own personality.

Otherwise life wouldn’t be worth it!

In this world dominated by wars and hate, a little ray of light and of hope is needed.

Standing ovation for Facebook you guys!

The new transformer machine! The perfect tool to make your life look better.

By a click you can lie to almost all the universe, new city, new job, you can also present yourself as a trilingual person.

Isn’t facebook amazing??

At first facebook’s main objective was to help you reach out with your friends, it was defined as a social network.

A way to get in touch with people, classmates from your primary school, even little babies you used to play with at the kinder garden.

Nowadays Facebook is the dating area! you like a girl’s profile picture ,  and it said that she lives in the same city as you, all you have to do is send her a friend request, cross your fingers and  wait for an approval.

Same thing for you ladies! A simple click and maybe you’ll meet your prince charming.

Why do we always have to do that?

Make things difficult!

Facebook addicts living in an immaginary world , a virtual world ; are those who spread their private life online, by mentioning all the tiny little details , where they are, what they are drinking. When they’re meeting their partners, the ones  they call “soulmates”, where, how it was.

Weeks after new soulmate  and same story again.

You are the way you are ! be yourself! Most important : be true to yourself ! and love yourself even if you feel like you’re not going to fit in this world and the only way to be accepted is to lie and create a life in order to be loved and appreciated.

You are different, you are beautiful, you are an exception in a world where everyone is fighting to look like the other.

YOU ARE ORIGINAL! DON’T TAKE THAT AWAY! STICK TO IT!

I’m not claiming divinity. I’ve never claimed purity of soul. I’ve never claimed to have the answers to life. I only put out songs and answer questions as honestly as I can… But I still believe in peace, love and understanding.

“To vote or not to vote?” The Moroccans Dilemma.

Few days are separating us from the 25 Th of November: the day of the 2011 Moroccans legislative elections.

While many political parties are competing hoping to collect the largest number of votes, several questions are haunting the Moroccans population minds, including all ages, and both genders:

To vote or not to vote?

Why should I vote?

Who can I trust?

All these hesitations are understandable, people don’t trust politicians anymore.

They are sick and tired of being misrepresented.

Words and fanciful promises are for sure pleasant to hear! But people need actions, concrete changes.

Hopefully, whoever is going to harvest the majority of the votes, the ONE that the Moroccan citizens will choose will be worth it, will be able to respond to their expectations and will get them trust in Politics again and get them more involved in the political life of Morocco.

Eidu Al Adha ( the day of sacrifice)

I wanted to take this time out to talk about” Eidu Al Adha” since we ‘re celebrating it today in Morocco.

“Eid Al Adha”  which is know as the day of sacrifice and sacrifice feast, has also other names all over the world such as: “Hari Raya Haji” in Singapore and Malaysia, “Tabaski” in West Africa , “Hari Raya Aidiladha” in South Esat Asia , “Id Al - Adha” or “Idu’z Zuha” amoung Indians.

This religious event  came as a reward to prophet Abraham for his loyalty and readiness to slaughter his son ISMAEL  for God .

Prophet Abraham had a vision , a vision in which he sacrified his son as a gift to God.

Ismael ; accepted  God’s wish ! and respected his father ‘s vision and the fact that his father was true to God.

As Abraham was just set to kill his son ,God stopped him  and sent him a sheep to sacrifice instead of  sacrificing Ismael ; his son.

These few last years, I don’t feel the spirit of” Eidu al Adha anymore” , people are giving more attention to the appearance of their sheep, what will their neighbours think about it, they spend almost a week eating meat !

Again I am not here to generalize , it’s just that I wanted to talk about a change I noticed.

And I honestly think that’s it’s a pitty , we transformed what is supposed to be a spiritual event ,  to a carnivorous day, blood everywhere , we increase the rate of pollution by throwing our trash on the street; we forget the meaning of the verb “to share” , I mean that’s what “Eid Al Adha” is mainly supposed to be about , sharing with “others” , showing solidarity towards the poor !

And of course  it’s supposed to be a great and unique conection with God by going to the Mosque.

People really need to change their behavior ! if they can’t do it the right way, they just should not do it, because by doing it the wrong way they just give a bad image of this religious event to others who do not share the same religious orientation as we.

LIFE

LIFE: a word easy to pronounce, slight and most of the time pleasant to hear.

A lot of people have spent an eternity trying to understand the real meaning of this word, to decrypt the mystery of it.

Learning to live; that’s mainly what each human being should do!

Relish every single moment which comes to him without any hesitation!

Do as well as one can to think positively regardless of the impediments we have to face, or the complicated situations we have to deal with.

Try to consider life as a miracle, a gift out of the blue!and we are supposed to cherish it and make good use of it.

Never let evil take place, settle down and rot our every day’s life!

LOVE! That’s the only key, a source of inspiration to each one of us, a way to escape, to share and to discover the spicy side of life.

Our time on earth is limited; we don’t know what tomorrow is made of .

For this reason;  a good living person must first and for most have the delicacy to push aside every single negative wave and try to see life from a different angle.

All of this is certainly not easy to achieve ,but with a 100% volition and a touch of self confidence we can make it happen.

Let’s love each other ….. Hug each other !

Share emotions! that s what humanity needs the most ! we loose too much time hating each others , killing each others! Hurting the ones we love ! getting in trouble !

It’s time to stop all this !

We can do it!

Feel free to call it “UTOPIA” ! but take a minute and think about this :

-what’s a life without dreams? Without hopes? Without its “impossible” side?

If we get together  we can make of our world a better world.

Sandi Thom :i wish i was a punk rocker

I believe that the very purpose of life is to be happy. From the very core of our being, we desire contentment. In my own limited experience I have found that the more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being. Cultivating a close, warmhearted feeling for others automatically puts the mind at ease. It helps remove whatever fears or insecurities we may have and gives us the strength to cope with any obstacles we encounter. It is the principal source of success in life. Since we are not solely material creatures, it is a mistake to place all our hopes for happiness on external development alone. The key is to develop inner peace.

Dalai Lama

A Schizophrenic society!

Since a very early age ,i had a mission which was to please a society,an environment to which i belonged .I was born amoung an opened minded family, with islamic morals and a soft Moroccan touch when it comes to traditions and family ethics, even if none of this was obtrude on me.

At school i met different types of children coming from all sorts of social categories with divesified mentalities.

We taught us patriotism, the admiration of the divine creator :GOD!The main goal to all this was to make us aware of our responsabilities , they use to call us the “tomorrow’s generation” the ones who will take over and do what it takes to make of Morocco a better country and why not improve its situation.

At this level, the question that is running through my mind is : “is that what we really aspire to?”

Appearently it was Obvious!

Nowadays when i look around me , and i try to analyse what surrounds me ,all i see are boys and girls my age seeking for adventure, adopting a dress code which does not match the Moroccan way of clothing,or even its traditions.

Some of these young people have a stunning open mind, and an unorthodox vision of life.

I don’t blame anyone, i think that this came as a result to “globalization”;the openness to the West with all its benefits and drawbacks ,in addition to the invasion of the new technologies on the universe without almost any geographical exeption.

Or maybe we just are far cry from the children we were  , those children who use to swallow everything that was said to them without asking questions.

We just want to be the executives of our lives far from any pressure coming from the society or the so-called small society known as “family”.

I am not here to generalize ,or to put everyone in the same category, i am just sharing my humble and modest point of view and litte experience, what i see in my everyday’s life when i walk on the street or when i sit at the balcony of a cafe, just random and strategic places where you can see all kind of person parade just in front of your eyes !

Which lead me to think that there is a major difference between what we are supposed to do and what we do , between what we say about Morocco and what happens in Morocco, how our parents perceive us and how we really are and behave.

We live in a paradoxical society, a  ”schizophrenic society”! Forced to wear masks to go unnoticed , pretend we are happy , to respond to the expectations of “the others” These “others” who want to transform us into pure consumers, oppressed people …

Happiness  and Freedom are related ;each human being has the right to be happy, express hiself in total freedom,to defend its principles LOUD and CLEAR without any fear or lack of confidence .

Trust in who  you are ,believe in your dreams , defend your place on earth , you deserve to be part of this universe , you deserve to be happy , to discover love, freedom, spiritual side of life, leaving  the material side apart!

  • I will conclude my writing with a Dalai Lama’s quotation : “Brute force, no matter how strongly applied, can never subdue the basic human desire for freedom “.
